ARE YOU REALLY TWINS?
Yes! David is 13 minutes older than Kathryn!
ARE YOU A FULLY LICENSED STUDIO?
Yes we are! Kathryn and David both have their personal tattoo licenses along with the premises license required by law for the studio.
WHY ARE YOU AN APPOINTMENT ONLY STUDIO?
To offer you a better service! All bookings both for consultations and tattoo sessions must be booked in advance. This enables us to concentrate on our tattoo work during sessions without being disturbed, both for the clients benefit and our own. Working on an appointment basis also ensures that consultations aren't rushed and that we can give you 100% attention.
WHAT IS YOUR HOURLY RATE?
At Twin Ink we don't charge an hourly rate for smaller pieces, instead we will give you a price for the design, please note however that we can't offer you a price until the design has been finalised and sized, and you have confirmed placement. There are so many variables when pricing a design, and to put it simply, two tattoos can be the same size but vary greatly in price because of the level of detail involved and placement required.
For this same reason, larger projects that would take longer than a day session are impossible to price, how long is a piece of string? In these circumstances we will charge you a day rate each session and work through the design gradually. Kat and David work in high detail, this type of high quality work takes time, please think about this before booking in to speak to us.
HOW LONG DO THE TATTOOS TAKE TO COMPLETE?
This is difficult to answer, it all depends on the design, detail, size and placement. As a very rough guide however, for a full day sitting with Kat, who's tattoo style is very highly detailed, you may be looking at palm size to A6 coverage during a full day session. Again, please bear this in mind before booking in. Fine art takes time, patience is part of the process!
WHAT STYLE OF TATTOOING DO YOU WORK IN?
Both Kat and David are realism tattooers, this is a style of tattooing that aims to give each piece a highly detailed, photo realistic look, rather than styles that are more illustrative.
Kat works in black and grey realism, black and grey with colour pop or glitter realism.
David works in both black and grey realism or with colour pop.
Realism is where their passion lies and for that reason they are NOT booking for the following:
Text/script/quotes
Illustrative/linework/dotwork/traditional/tribal/blackwork

IF YOU ONLY BOOK FOR SPECIFIC STYLES, WHY HAVE I SEEN SOME OF YOUR WORK IN VARYING STYLES?
As Kat and David have been tattooing for a few years now, as part of their journey they experimented in different styles. They have now found their niche!
HOW LONG IS YOUR WAITING LIST?
Our waiting list can vary, we can offer you updated wait times when you contact us. Sometimes earlier slots become available if we have rescheduled a client.
HOW DO I BOOK IN?
Please use the 'contact us' form to enquire about a design and/or arrange a free consultation. For any custom work, a consultation will be required to ensure that we are able to take on your project within our tattooing style and to check and measure the area to be tattooed. Sometimes one off/ready to go designs become available and these will be showcased on the Facebook page and can be booked without the need for a consultation.
